Nicolai Pfeffer received his training at the Musikhochschule Köln in the master class of Ralph Manno. The clarinettist, born in 1985, also received important artistic impulses during a guest study at Indiana University Bloomington in the class of Howard Klug as well as at international master and chamber music courses with Sabine Meyer, Karl Leister, Alan Hacker, Charles Neidich and many others.
Numerous awards and scholarships have accompanied Nicolai Pfeffer’s career to date. In addition to his extensive artistic activities, he devotes himself with great interest to the new edition of chamber music and solo compositions for the clarinet, which, along with his own arrangements, have been published by such renowned music publishers as G. Henle Verlag and Breitkopf Härtel.
Radio and television recordings as well as concerts in the most important halls in Germany and Europe round off his activities as a musician. Nicolai Pfeffer is a sought-after teacher and teaches clarinet at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, the Hochschule für Künste Bremen and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover.
