With his successful informative and humorous concert series “What is SO Great about Classical Music???”, Canadian Marc Pierre Toth presents himself on stages in some 30 different countries and to date in five different languages.

Marc Pierre Toth broke off his chemical engineering studies to devote himself professionally to music, or rather the piano. He graduated with honors from Einar Steen-Nokleberg’s soloist class at HMTM Hannover and completed further studies of fortepiano and historical performance practice with Prof. Gerritt Zitterbart. Furthermore, he obtained a Bachelor’s Diploma, a Master’s Diploma, a Licentiate Diploma and a Chamber Music Diploma. In 2015 he finished his Beethoven piano sonata cycle in different venues. From 2017 he started the same again in Spain, France, Canada, England and in Germany.
He has performed worldwide as a soloist with various orchestras, including the Beethoven Orchestra Hessen, the Villingen-Schwenningen Symphony Orchestra, and the London Community Orchestra, also at the NDR Musiktag 2012 with Eiji Oue, Markus Groh and the Orchestra of the HMTMH together, the Orchestra of the Hanover State Opera, the Orchestra London, the Cologne Soloists, the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma e Lazio, the Haydn Orchestra Bolzano’ and the ‘Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra’. He has won prizes at national and international competitions in Canada, the USA, Italy and other countries, including third place at the prestigious “Ferruccio Busoni” Competition 2000 in Bolzano.
After that he was invited to the Lisinski Hall Zagreb, to Wolff Auditorium and Aeolian Hall in London, by Amici della Musica di Verona, by Amici della Musica di Vicenza, by Festival di Maria Callas in Sermione sul Garda, and by Virtuoses de Musica in Brazil, among others. He has also won prizes at a dozen other competitions in Spain, Germany, the USA and Japan, among others, and has also given concerts in Canada, Japan, South America, as well as in almost all European countries. Marc Pierre Toth can look back on numerous projects such as ‘4Beethoven4’, ‘Goldberg-the Ballet’, ‘Visions Fugitives’, ‘Claudel-Rodin-Chopin’, and ‘Preludes and Fugues’ in Germany and Austria with Viennese choreographer Jörg Mannes (www.joergmannes.com). As a chamber musician, Toth has also played with the French world star Solenne Paidassi, as well as with Christoph Seybold, Yvonne Liepe, Elissa Lee, Keiko Yanagita in Japan, with whom he recorded the Brahms Violin Sonatas for “the Glee” label(2017), as well as with Russian cellist Prof. Leonid Gorokhov and various other musicians and ensembles.
He has given master classes with great success in various universities, such as Canada, the USA, South America and Italy, and has been invited to give others soon in Italy, Sicily, Canada, Thailand and China. He is also active as a juror at the International Piano and Chamber Music Competitions. Toth was active from 2007 for 10 years as a piano teacher, répétiteur and on committees at HMTM Hannover, among others. To this end, he has led a yoga course at HMTM Hannover for eleven years and in January 2018 he earned his diploma as an accredited yoga teacher of the World Yoga Alliance in India. Since 2009 he is also a student of the Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit for Shaolin Kung Fu and Shaolin Qi-gong.
January 2010 he was appointed as Associate Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the ‘Université Laval’ in Quebec, Canada. Since 2012, he has been a principal lecturer at Dr.Hoch’s Conservatory in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where he founded the “Music for a Better World” benefit concert series as Artistic Director in 2015. Since fall 2017 he has also been appointed as a lecturer at the ‘Accademia del Ridotto’ in Stradella, Italy, and since 2019 at the Center for Music and Language in Hannover.
